Prayers For This Sweet Blogger

My sweet, makes me crazy some days, wouldn't trade him for the world hubby's Cherry tree

I love this photo. The sun peeking out between the branches reminds me our Lord is up there watching over us every day.

I worked on a post last night before hitting the bed, just needed to add a little update this morning before hitting the publish button. Before I got on that task I checked e-mail to see if there was anything pressing that needed attention. Nope, thankfully the day can go as planned, what the heck I will take the time to look at the Blog Lovin updates.

I was so sad to read of the passing of a fellow bloggers sweet Husband. The obstacles the Lord has placed on her over the past few years would have me hiding under my bed. Oh No not her!! She carries on with a spring in her step climbing that mountain every day. Please stop by her blog today to offer a word of encouragement. If you have the time read back on the journey she has been on with her sweet man while being the "Mommy" to her Grandchildren.

Thankful for Monday's

Another action packed weekend with the grands. When I say our Tyler is TALL you can take it to the bank :) At only 8 years old like his Daddy he towers over the others.

The little girls got some alone time without all the stinky boys Sunday afternoon. Forget the days of helping nanny in the kitchen. When Papaw is around he is King!!

I spent my Monday trying to get the house back in order after a weekend on the run watching the grands play various sports along with some heavy duty yard work. With all the attic crap scattered around it looks like I haven't done a thing around here, grrr

Today is our second try to have the bottom few boards of siding replaced on the exterior of our home. Last week they didn't bother to call or show up. Hubby had the pleasure of dealing with them. We are expecting heavy rain all day today. Wonder if they will at least call to cancel and reschedule? These people along with so many other home improvement companies want thousands of dollars to do the work in their own sweet time. Aggravates me to no end!!!!

On for today...more sorting in the attic. I think I can finish that part up today which leaves just getting two twin beds out of there that need new homes. Hubby wants to repair/replace the attic fan before I begin returning what we will hang on to. We are in a time crunch at this point as I have our "Girl Time" in the Mts trip coming up. I want this project DONE!!!!

Don't you just hate projects that seem to go on and on with no end in sight?

Attacking the Attic

My January, put off until February, March didn't happen :) attic clean out is now well underway.
Over half of the junk has been pulled down, most has been sorted
The upstairs hallway is covered as well as one spare bedroom and our own bedroom where the sorting happens.
DD#2 LOVED horses for years and years. Birthday and Christmas gifts always included a horse. The little girls have developed a love of horses lately. Kara was over the Moon excited to play with her Aunt Amber's old horses that have been stashed in the attic. These won't need to be stored any more :)

Between yard work, chasing the little kiddo's, and cleaning the attic this week nothing on my body doesn't hurt!!!! I can not help that its only 9:00 on a Saturday night, hubby and I are headed to bed with some lotions and potions!!!! Back pain oil for him, joint cream for me, and Lavender for us both. We need a GOOD nights sleep!!!

Spring is a beautiful but painful time of the year :)

Busy Beavers

Check out the blooms on this apple tree. It was a wonderful place to sit and rest while the rug rats were here today!
Garden planting has begun. Lettuce, Cabbage, Kale, and Broccoli
 Yellow onions too
Humm, not sure how this posted twice, even less sure how to make it go away :)
Tater Tot loves going to the park now that he is old enough to toddle around
Kara is showing him how it's done
One of his very favorite things ever to do is to play the park piano. He rocks it :)
Kara, runs, runs, and runs some more, never ever slows down :( Poor old me can't keep up.

It was a long HOT day today. I thought I would run the kiddo's in the park this morning to slow them down for the afternoon. I was wrong!!!! Finally got Tater Tot to take a nap by rocking him under the apple tree while sister kept busy, chasing bee's, digging worms, picking dandelions, cooking yummy treats in her kitchen gathered from yard waste. So thankful that hubby came home early!!!! He and Kara had a late lunch out and another round at the playground while I entertained Mr. Man.

We both fell asleep in our chairs before 5:00, we are getting old :)

Supper? What supper? I had a nice coupon to "Outback" so off we went.

Spent an hour in the attic tonight passing down more treasures (trash) to hubby. Nothing better to do on a Friday night than manual labor in a 100 degree attic!!! Yep we are getting old :)

At least tomorrow we will catch a bit of a break with just one soccer game to attend, baseball and T-ball have the day off. Of course that frees the afternoon up for more yard work, garden chores, and attic clean out. Don't you just LOVE spring :)

Thursday Layouts

Since today is Thursday better known as Throw Back Thursday in the on line world I am going to try to keep up with my plan of posting scrapbooking layouts each Thursday. My hearts not in it but for now we have done all we can for Elijah in passing his struggle along to others, baking, donation to his fund, and of course PRAYERS!!

I was using the WOTG (Workshops On The Go) Yuletide Carol Kit. In the above photo you can see all that comes in the kit. I LOVE these kits!! Lots of paper, embellishments, cute stamp set, and a color instruction book with 3 different easy to follow layouts.
The kit has way more embellishments than are needed to make the layouts. Like I need more stuff in my stash :) The stamp set I will use over and over again!
This kit works in conjunction with the Cricut Artbooking cartridge. I like to cut all my pieces at once so I can move along faster. If you don't have the cartridge its no problem, the directions show you how to create the layout with out it :)
Using the handy dandy guide the layouts come together quick and easy.
Ta Da, now all I need to do is slap the photo's on. I should have taken a close up of all the cute elements, trust me its super cute :)
I have set our Christmas albums up using both traditional scrapbooking and pocket page scrapbooking. Figured while I had the mess out I might as well save some time and money by making my own pocket cards with the leftovers :)
I used the stamp set on the cards along with more cuts from the cartridge.
I also love leftovers :) this reindeer is the negative from the other side, it was just too sweet to waste :) Also used the leftover embellishments to jazz the cards up.
I still have LOTS of paper to use on additional layouts which I will do someday SOON. My goal is to use stuff up, no more storing/hoarding!!!!
The leftovers from this kit is packed up ready to go with me on our girls Mt  trip that is just around the corner. Top Secret, shhhh I hope to share/dump anything I have leftover once I get an additional layout or two done on my BFF's :)

I have got to get focused and stay focused today!!!! We have all been so upset, worried, and just heart sick over sweet Elijah's setback that I can't get done what NEEDS to be done. Today is the day as we will have Kara and Tater Tot for 3 days starting tomorrow, throw in Soccer, Baseball, T Ball, and Football games, its a cocktail for disaster if I don't pull it together!!

We want to thank ALL OF YOU for saying a prayer for our little fella. We know the Lord has a special plan for Elijah, he has already touch so many lives with his strength and faith in the Lord. People who haven't been on their knees in more years than they want to admit have hit them for this little boy.

Prayers For Elijah

This is a photo of Elijah from last summer before he had his surgery. His wish for "Make a Wish Foundation" was to swim with Dolphins. Unfortunately they were unable to grant his wish do to time restraints between his radiation treatments and the MAJOR surgery he was about to undergo.

His Pappy and Gigi made sure their little Angel's wish came true :) You see we Grandparents can sometimes Get R Done when no one else can :)

I have no idea why I can't post a link to Elijah's Facebook page the past few days but I think I might have gotten it right this time. Fingers crossed!!

I have tried my best to stay on task today but with this beautiful guy on my mind it has been a real struggle. Hit the garden center this morning to purchase our spring plants for the garden. Finished some layouts that needed to be done for up coming workshops. Made an attempt to update our family calendar, hubby is about to make me nuts in this department!! A few more odds and ends tended to until I just couldn't hold the tears back any longer :)

The only thing to do was hit the kitchen for some baking therapy. DD#1 will be delivering the cookies to our little buddy and his family at the hospital. If they are like the rest of us (I am sure they are!!) It's hard to even think about food right now. Hopefully a cookie or two to nibble on will be a small help.

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. Please do follow along on Elijah's FB page :)

A Go Fund Me site has also been set up to help cover the cost of his new treatments.

PRAYERS are of course the first and most important thing anyone and everyone can do but....the reality is even with good health insurance the cost of this nasty stuff is more than most families can handle :)

Our Hearts are Heavy

This is a photo left to right of our Tyler with his buddies Sam and Elijah I think from 2011
Another photo of the "Boys" from summer of 2013 Elijah is on the far left.

There is nothing more important in our lives right now than asking every single person on this earth to pray for Elijah.

Elijah is special.....all children are...but this little boy

He is everything we all hope to be. Kind, loving, forgiving, gentle, caring....he is a little Angel here on earth.

We are in so much fear that the Lord will want his Angel back. We need Elijah, the world needs little boys like Elijah.

Will you join our family along with thousands of others to ask God to lay his healing hands on this little guy, give his Mommy, Brother Sam, Aunt Julie, Gigi, and Pappy the strength to continue this fight.
