Progress

Done, done, done! I finished the last freezer today. Top shelf is beef, 2nd pork, 3rd chicken, 4th (drawer) Bacon/sausage/breakfast foods, 5th ground beef, 6th (drawer) fruits and veggies. The chicken shelf is looking a little low, but in reality there are over 30 packages of chicken, next great sale I will restock.
Here is the food waste I found in all the freezers. Hot dogs, I blame the grands on this one!! Ha They didn't eat enough. Lasagna in the plastic tub, my fault :( When I do " To Go" meals I freeze the meal first then vacuum seal the meal. This container must have gotten lost on me. Pork chops, the vacuum seal failed. This doesn't happen very often.
Fridge food waste. Chopped garlic and horseradish. I am not willing to share the expiration date!!!
Why in the heck do photo's load on their side sometimes? This is a pattern for business cards but I thought maybe I could transform it into something more useful for small gifts.
Yaaa, It worked. Safety pins, needles, buttons, and thread. Much better than the ugly kits at the checkout counter in the big box stores.
The SEW creative Carla shared this site with me to check out the tutorial for a "Mug Bag" Such a cute site to hang out with a cup of tea!!! I had a special friend in mind who's children both live far from home while making this today. She is also AJ the beagles surrogate mommy. AJ and I will deliver this sweet mug bag on Mothers Day to our special Mommy.
Side view. Purple is my buddy's favorite color, she is also into the Vintage/Victorian style of decorating. This should do the trick.
Once the bag is opened it's a mug rug with a pocket for tea. The inner bag holds a coffee/tea mug. My bag turned out a little small, not sure what I did wrong other than the batting I used might have been too thick. I could only find one of my mugs from home that would fit. Wonder if British mugs are smaller that ours in the USA? The bag and I will have to check out some shops for a perfect fitting mug.

Lots of work and a bit of play thrown in today. Of course there is lots more work on the ever growing "To Do" list with hubby still out of town. As much as we enjoy our big yard, tree's, flowers, garden and all it's so darn much for one person especially in the spring. I have to keep telling myself "slow and steady will win the race" That's sooo not my personality!! Ha Tomorrow is another day Scarlett.

It's way past my bedtime, I know I will pay for this lack of sleep tomorrow. As soon as I get my PJ's on and have just ONE chocolate covered peanut cluster I am calling it a day.

  1. Nice job on your freezer! Did I tell you before how we once found a can of cream of celery in my MIL's pantry dated 1984?? As long as your dates are later than this, I think you are fine ;)

  2. Nice & tidy freezer. I have had a few, do not share the date, fridge moments myself. I LOVE the business card holders ... I wish (sometimes) I could sew. The mug holder is sweet. After another busy day, I am sure you slept like a baby.
