Happy Valentines Day

Seeing as how our roads are still a mess with snow and ice there will be no romantic dinner out with hubby tonight, not that we would go out anyway! One of my man's favorite winter meals is homemade veggie soup. Dehydrated veggies to the rescue.
We are doing family Valentines gifts this year for our big kiddo's. M&M cookies are one of the items included in their family gift. These boxes ended up holding a whole lot more cookies than I had thought!! I ended up making a second batch to have enough.
DD#2 is single with a BF. She will be receiving a smaller container of cookies since she doesn't have a family to share with.
Their family bags contain a big box of cookies, popcorn, bag of M&M's and a family friendly video for a fun evening at home.
Hubby will be getting the same gift except his video is the "Despicable 2" movie. I am thinking he likes that movie since he and Tyler saw it three times when it was out in the theater this summer.

No sewing today as I am trying to get the house in order, pay bills, do laundry, and some baking of course before my better half returns home for a visit. So far so good on his cross country trip, he hasn't run into any bad roads yet. That may change soon as he hits NC and SC. We still can't get out and about in our neighborhood but with sunny skies and temperatures in the 50's by tomorrow we should all be back to normal.

I realized today how wonderfully quite snow is. No cars or even planes overhead, no trash trucks, man in brown making deliveries, school buses, or mail trucks. Even the birds and squirrels were tucked in some place keeping warm. The world is starting to wake up now. Chain saw noise began early today, I'm sure the Bradford Pear trees took a beating which is nothing new. Those stinkin trees can't stand up to a brisk breeze.

Hope everyone has a Happy Valentines Day and a great weekend!!

  4. Love the family Valentine's gifts. The first year hubby and I dated, oh... over 30 years ago... I made m&m cookies for his Valentine's day gift. And he bought me a pair of rubber boots....LOL. (he is still THAT romantic... ha!)
