Our Ty boy turned seven years old today :( The years go by too fast. He spent the night at "The Great Wolf Lodge" with Mommy, Daddy, and three of his BFF's. How cool is this wolf den where the boys slept.
They even had their own TV and snacks of course. LOTS of snacks
I couldn't get a photo of the entire indoor water park as it is HUGE!!! Also included in the stay was the outdoor water park. Needless to say the boys had a blast!!!! Mom got a deal by watching for a 40% off coupon, way to go Mommy!!
As I was surfing the net last night looking for free patterns for our Christmas Bitty Baby's I ran into Ashley's blog. Holy Cow, you need to check it out. Sew many cute projects and great tutorials. The one that caught my eye was her Doll bath wrap Oh My! I have no business buying any more fabric sew....I started digging around in the sewing room. I had a nice pile of these bar mop towels in the blank embroidery tub. They will have to do.
After cutting the edging off 6 towels they were not as large a piece as Ashley suggested in her tutorial but I figured 2 inches wouldn't make that big a difference.
Humm, the leftovers might make cute little wash clothes for the Bitty's
TA DA!!! I wish My model wasn't stuck in the box so you could see how very cute they turned out
Couldn't just stop at one, sew I made four towels and eight wash clothes. Total cost a big fat ZERO. Of course I did buy the bar towels way back when so at one point in time there was some spending. A set of two towels runs $1.98. I used 3 sets to make the whole caboodle above. That works out to $1.50 for each set. Pretty cool right?
Don't you just love it when you run into a jewel of a blog when you least expect it? The only problem with bumping into Ashley's blog was that I was in the bed messing around way past my bedtime. Once I got that tutorial for the baby doll towel in my head I couldn't sleep thinking of how I was going to work yet one MORE project in with all I already have started. I would not be denied!!! I just had to give it a whirl. The rest is history.
The kitchen, breakfast room, and den are a hot mess after all this fun sewing but I am too tired to care. I can knock it out first thing in the AM before the little girls arrive for the day. Not that they would care mind you. They love playing with fabric scraps these days .
I hope to set up the embroidery machine tomorrow while they are here. I have several things that I need to finish up. You never know, some day's they play like angels other days not so much! Ha
Off to bed for me with the baby laptop so I can drull over old posts at Mommy by day Crafter by Night blog
Debby....thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I am so glad that you found me! The towels turned out darling and match bitty baby's jammies perfectly! Great job!
